Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal permanently gets rid of unwanted hairs from any part of the body. It works by hair follicle absorbing the light of the laser, which burns the hair in the follicle from which it grows. Only the hair that is in the growing phase will be permanently removed, while the others will grow back thinner each time. For this reason, multiple sessions are needed to target the hair follicles in the growing phase.

At D-Derm, Hair Removal is performed by the certified & experienced medical aestheticians, thus making it safe and effective. We will not perform any procedure without assessing: complete medical history, current health condition, and any potential you may have for complications.
Most patients need 6-8 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
There are many factors that would prevent you from being a good candidate. Such as: Pregnancy and breastfeeding, History of seizures or epilepsy, Waxed, tweezed or threaded the treatment area in the last 4-6 weeks, Recent sun exposure/UV tanning bed, Any hormonal imbalance condition that is not being treated.
Mild redness that generally resolves within 24 hours. If there is any hypo or hyper-pigmentation, it is usually temporary and will resolve within 6 months. Crusting and/or scabs may occur over ingrown hairs (usually on darker skin types).
Health Canada approves Laser Technology as a method of permanent hair reduction. Because not all follicles are active, as we age, inactive follicles become active which causes new hair growth. Medications and hormone levels also promote new hair growth.
