Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is a quick, safe and non-invasive treatment that uses liquid nitrogen to treat different skin conditions like skin tags, age spots, milia, xanthalasma and small warts. An in-person consultation is required with one of our Experts to review the medical history and conduct a physical examination of the lesion. D-Derm staff are well trained and experienced when it comes to Cryotherapy.

Age Spots

Cryotherapy is a common and painless treatment for Age Spots. Age Spots are small, flat and dark areas on the skin that usually appear on areas exposed to sun, such as face, hands, shoulders and arms. During this treatment, the D-Derm Specialist applied liquid nitrogen precisely to the lesion without damaging the surrounding tissue. The Age Spot looks lighter, as the skin heals.

Skin Tags

Cryotherapy is a very successful treatment to remove Skin Tags. Skin Tags are painless, noncancerous growths on the skin. They are connected to the skin by a small and thin stalk. They can appear anywhere on the body and commonly found in places where the skin folds such as armpits, groin, thighs, eyelids, neck and under the breast.

Warts

Cryotherapy is a standard treatment for warts. It uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the wart without damaging the surrounding tissue. Warts are the infected growths that appear on the surface of the skin as a rough and hard bump. They are highly contagious and commonly appear on hands and feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

The duration of the treatment will vary depending on the surface area and thickness of the tissue being treated. Cryotherapy typically takes no longer than 30 seconds to perform, making it one of the most desirable methods to remove skin imperfections.
Most clients experience some mild irritation and/or redness to the area for a few minutes immediately after the procedure, which is perfectly normal. Mild blistering can also occur for a few days following the procedure, but this tends to be indiscriminate and shouldn’t last more than a few days.
The sensation experienced during Cryotherapy is best described as being similar to that of a nettle sting. There may be a few seconds of residual stinging after the treatment, but it is generally only felt during the actual application (between 1 and 30 seconds).
Typically skin tags, age spots and milia need 1-3 sessions to ensure full success in removing them.
You can book your next treatment in 2-3 weeks.
